The 26-year-old from New Zealand became the seventh woman to win 20 LPGA titles before turning 27. Each regular LPGA win is worth one point. Sunday’s final margin was two shots, but Ko remained in control throughout the final round, played amid unseasonably cool temperatures that dipped into the 40s.

CASARES, Spain (AP) — The United States enjoyed its best-ever start to a Solheim Cup, sweeping the favored European team in all of the foursomes matches in the opening session to take a 4-0 lead in Spain on Friday. The U.S. trailed briefly in only two of the matches at Finca Cortesin in southern Spain. Thompson and Khang, who together have nine Solheim Cup appearances, took an early 3-up lead through three holes. Maguire had won four matches in her Solheim Cup debut two years ago,The teams will be back in the afternoon for the fourball matches, when each player will hit their own ball. CNN —American star Lilia Vu sealed an impressive victory at the Women’s Open on Sunday, as she remained unyielding under the pressure of the final round while her rivals dropped shots along the way. Victory marked a comeback of sorts for Vu who has endured a rollercoaster few months. Lilia Vu celebrates as drinks are poured on her on the 18th green. “It was really hard those past couple of months and somehow they believed in me and helped me get this win here.”Vu became the first American winner of the Women’s Open since 2014. Vu’s compatriot Ally Ewing, who had been the runaway leader ahead of the final two rounds, eventually finished in a tie for sixth, four-under par.
